Recently as I interacted with the animals in my household I was suddenly overwhelmed by their faith and trust in me. They were each put in a situation to be reliant on me for their welfare without a positive alternative. It's not and never has been their choice. Wild horses are being rounded up at alarming rates and consequently are reliant too. I find it to be devastating that these creatures, like all domesticated animals, are being put in the hands of humans to do what they wish. Again, they have no choice. In this painting, I explore the concept of trust and human/animal relationships, and will continue to do so in my upcoming works.
